Emefa’s father passed away so she lives with her mother and her four siblings in the small community of Doblogonno, in the Greater Accra region of Ghana. Her mother works as a bar attendant but her income isn’t enough to support her large family and she needs help sending Emefa to school.
An education is so important in Ghana because it helps to break the cycle of poverty. Families in our sponsorship program earn such a low income that they are struggling to send their child to school. At the International Needs school in Doblogonno, children would receive a warm meal, a quality education, school supplies, medical care, and Christian nurture.
