Hanna lives with her aunt in the village of Mepe, in the Volta Region of Ghana. Her parents do not live in the same community and are unable to contribute financially. Hanna’s aunt knows the importance of an education and would love for Hanna to go to school. However, she does not earn a large enough income to provide for Hanna and send her to school.
An education is so important in Ghana because it helps to break the cycle of poverty and give hope for a bright future. Sponsored children receive food, clothing, medical care, schooling, Christian nurture, and Bible teaching through the International Needs school in Mepe.
