Racheal lives with her parents and her four siblings in the village of Kiyindi, Uganda. Her father is a peasant farmer and her mother is a homemaker. Their family income is very low and unsteady, and they need help sending Racheal to school.
The family lives in a country plagued by poverty, famine, malaria, and AIDS. An education will help Racheal to break free from poverty so she can have hope for a future free from poverty. Sponsorship provides her with food, clothing, a Christian education, medical check-ups, biblical teaching, and Christian nurture.
Racheal helps at home with some of the cooking.
