Access to basic sanitation facilities (latrines) is not available to 30 million people living in Uganda (80.9% of the population), and 22 million in Ghana (85.1% of the population)!* And the need is equally great between urban and rural areas of those countries. The World Health Organizations states that, “Poor waste disposal practices are responsible for a significant proportion of the world’s infectious disease burden. Diseases due to poor water supply, sanitation, and personal and domestic hygiene cause 4.0% of all deaths and 5.7% of all disability or ill health in the world.” **
Please help International Needs build safe latrines.
