Durjoy lives with his parents and two older brothers in Naogaon District. The family home is made of bamboo, wood, and mud. It is only one room. They get their water from a local tube-well several times each day. Durjoy’s father is a daily laborer. He doesn’t have a consistent job. He has to find new work every day or when a job finishes. Durjoy’s older brothers do not know how to read, and they too work as daily laborers. Durjoy has received an invitation to study at the International Needs Naogaon Slum School. He and his parents are so grateful to International Needs! The family’s religion is Hinduism. An education is so important because it helps to break the cycle of poverty and give hope for a brighter future. Sponsorship provides children with an education, a school uniform and supplies, a warm meal, medical care, and they are lovingly taught the word of God at the International Needs Naogaon Slum School in Bangladesh. Naogaon District is in northern Bangladesh.
