Tamanna lives with her parents in the slum area of Dhaka in a one room hut made of bamboo, dry leaves, and a tin roof. Their financial situation is dire. Her father is a van puller (tricycle puller) who works from morning until midnight. Since he has no tricycle of his own, most of his earnings are paid to the owner of the tricycle. Her parents are not able to afford her educational expenses. They are thrilled that Tamanna now has the opportunity to study at the IN Banasree Slum School.
