There is a Ghanaian proverb that says, “Nobody shows a child where God is.” Pictured above is Mike Garner with his sponsored child, Christiana, from Kuve, Ghana. Mike and I traveled to Kenya, Uganda, and Ghana for two weeks learning about the challenges many children face. From child sacrifice in Uganda (see previous blog) to the death of 3 children every day due to malaria in Ghana, children across the continent are faced with real obstacles to a brighter future.
One of the ways International Needs helps is by sponsoring children’s education. A sponsored child not only has the opportunity to go to school, but they are taught Bible lessons and learn the importance of clean water, sanitation, and proper hygiene. These children know that God has provided for them through their sponsors and so it is not simply a proverb. They see God acting through the generosity of others. I hope you will consider joining with thousands of other sponsors to help a child in need.
