Melanie Sofia Acosta Navarro
Melanie lives with her parents, brothers, and sisters in a slum called La Playa, on the outskirts of Barranquilla. The family lives in a small rented apartment that has water, gas, and electricity. The floors are made of cement and sand. Melanie’s father is a cabinetmaker and her mother is a housewife. Her parents struggle to meet the needs of the family as they do not have much. Her father does additional side jobs when he can find them. Melanie needs assistance so that she can continue her education.
La Rosa de Saron is an educational outreach to a displaced community suffering from poverty and persecution. Children at the school receive a quality education, school uniforms, and health care. They are lovingly taught the Word of God.
