Abla lives with her grandmother, parents, brother, and two sisters in a small community outside of Agortorme, in the Volta region of Ghana. Her father is a Kente weaver and her mother sells and trades items in the market. Her parents’ income is very low and they struggle to meet the needs of the family, therefore, her grandmother helps to support the family. Abla helps her grandmother by running errands each morning to support her trading. Abla enjoys school but needs assistance so she can finish her education.
