Dzorgbenyuie lives with his parents and four siblings in the small community of Kebenu, in the Volta region of Ghana. His parents are peasant farmers and they rent a piece of farmland for cultivation. The family depends on their farm produce during the farming season for food; what they have left they sell for a very small income. They earn very little from their produce and they can not afford to send Dzorgbenyule to school.
An education is so important in Ghana because it helps to break the cycle of poverty. Families in our sponsorship program earn such a low income that they are struggling to send their child to school. At the International Needs school children receive a warm meal, a quality education, school supplies, medical care, and Christian nurture.
