Portia lives with her parents and four siblings in a small rented room that shares facilities with four other families. They live in a small community outside of Agortorme, in the Volta region of Ghana. Portia’s father earns a meager income from farming and her mother sells the food items in the local market. Their income is low and it is a challenge to adequately provide for their family. Portia lacks the basic needs of an average child. She greatly benefits from the well balanced lunch served by the school. Portia wants to be a medical doctor and sponsorship would let her work towards her dream.
Families in Ghana face poverty, malnutrition, child labor, and disease. An education gives children hope for a promising future. Your love and support would provide this child in Ghana with a quality education, school supplies, Christian nurture, Bible teaching, and medical care.
