Riya lives with her parents in the city of Siliguri, in West Bengal, India. Her parents are both laborers in a tea garden, and their income is very low. They are struggling to provide for their family’s basic needs and need help sending Riya to school. An education is so important because it helps to break the cycle of poverty and give hope for a brighter future.
The International Needs project in Siliguri assists Nepali children living in India. The children receive assistance with schooling costs, books, equipment, uniforms, and medical care. They also receive food, Christian nurture, and Bible teaching.
