Shruti lives with her parents in the city of Siliguri, in West Bengal, India. Her parents both work as laborers in a tea garden, but their income is very low and unsteady and they need help sending Shruti to school. An education is so important because it helps to break the cycle of poverty and give hope for a brighter future.
The International Needs project in Siliguri assists Nepali children living in India. The children receive assistance with schooling costs, books, equipment, uniforms, and medical care. They also receive food, Christian nurture, and Bible teaching.
