It’s incredible to see how the impact on one person’s heart can start a chain reaction. This story from one of IN’s partners in Vietnam is a perfect example of this.
Over the years, Ha Van Thanh has been walking alongside students at a local university, supporting them through scholarship programs. In June, Thanh invited ten students to attend a worship service that few of them would ever forget.
The service unfolded with heartfelt praise and worship, and a message of faith was shared. The Holy Spirit stirred in the hearts of the students who attended. By the end of the evening, four friends opened their hearts and accepted Christ. It was a night of tears, joy, and an unspoken peace that would soon move into the hearts of others as well.
A month after the impactful worship service, one of the students who became a new believer invited Thanh to a party at his home in the remote area of the Binh Tan district. He had a courageous request–to help share the gospel message to both his parents and grandparents. However, his family was devout followers of Hoa Hao Buddhism, and it quickly became clear that there would be some deep-rooted resistance.
But the Lord softened this family’s hearts in ways they could not have imagined. The student’s 68-year-old grandfather, a devout Buddhist, began to listen intently. His eyes reflected a mix of curiosity and conviction as he watched his grandson speak with a new sense of excitement and hope. That night, his grandfather dedicated his life to Christ, forever changing his family’s story.
This is a great reminder that, when led by the Lord, sharing the good news can become contagious. You never know how far the impact of sharing the gospel with one person can reach others beyond your circle.
