90 goats were distributed to 45 Chepang families in Gajuri-6, Dhading, Nepal through an IN Nepal initiative. This act of compassion was more than just practical support, but has sparked both economic opportunity and spiritual transformation.
Each goat was insured and came with education on care, fodder, and veterinary access, offering sustainable support, not just a one-time gift. A follow-up six months later showed a 93% survival rate, with 20 offspring born and 8 goats pregnant, confirming strong outcomes and community engagement.
One recipient, Sandhya Chepang, grew her herd from 2 to 8 goats and is now able to support her childrenβs education. Another, Sangita Chepang, came to faith in Christ through this initiative. Her testimony has inspired others, and now a house fellowship of 12β13 members meets regularly in her home.
This program also opened doors to unreached villages, bringing the Gospel through house-to-house visits. The goats, once seen as economic assets, have become symbols of blessing and hope, deepening community bonds and stirring renewed faith.
While challenges remain, like improving goat shelters and access to care, a foundation has been laid. With $60,000 in remaining funds, more families will soon be supported. We praise God for His faithfulness and look forward to what He will continue to do.
