Economic Empowerment

The Lydia Vocational Training Center teaches women literacy, sewing, and other practical skills so they can better provide for themselves and their families. They also learn preventative health care, first aid, home sanitation, nutrition, and protection against gender-based violence.

Situation

Many women in Nepal face poverty, gender-based violence, and limited opportunities to earn a living. Illiteracy and lack of vocational training leave them unable to provide for their families or protect themselves from exploitation. Without intervention, their struggles continue from one generation to the next.

Solution

The Lydia Vocational Training Center empowers women by teaching literacy, sewing, and practical life skills. Training includes preventative health care, first aid, home sanitation, and nutrition. Women also learn how to protect themselves and their families against gender-based violence while being encouraged in faith and community.
