COUNTRIES WE SERVE
IN Colombia
Country Overview
Armed conflict in some areas of Colombia has caused the displacement of 2.5 million people, half of which are under the age of 18. The need is so great that the government is not able to help the displaced people because there are too many. Children who are born into this poverty have little opportunity to break free except through education.
Due to political and economic crises, Venezuelan people are fleeing their country to seek refuge in neighboring countries such as Colombia. Colombia is the nation with the third largest population of displaced people in the world.

Partner Bio
Jose & Martha Palacio
Jose and Martha Palacio were lawyers by profession when God called them to leave their law practices to serve thousands of people who were displaced by armed conflict within the rural areas of Barranquilla, Colombia. They defended the rights of these people within government sectors and physically moved into the La Playa community to serve and reflect God’s love for them. Once in the community, they planted the Camino de Fe Church.
Today, Jose, along with his wife Martha and family, continues to provide leadership to the church while also serving as Executive Director of International Needs Colombia. In 2001, they founded the La Rosa de Saron (Rose of Sharon) school, providing Christian education to nearly 340 children.
