IN Nepal

Country Overview

Nepal is predominantly a Hindu nation steeped in a complex social caste system, trapping the majority of the population in deep poverty and oppression.

IN Nepal was founded in 1975 with an emphasis on holistic community development. It has grown to include education assistance for children, vocational training for vulnerable women, community development initiatives, and health and sanitation projects.

For security purposes, the identities of the IN Nepal staff are not publicized. Christianity is seen as a foreign influence and Christians are viewed with a great amount of suspicion. Publication and distribution of Christian materials is restricted. But even in this tense and dangerous climate, workers continue to do whatever it takes to reach out and connect with hurting people.
