Financially Sweny’s family is very poor. Her father is a jum cultivator (a type of tribal cultivation). He works in other mens’ fields on daily basis, and then gets a small amount of money. His income is from hand to mouth. There are seven members in Sweny’s family. Due to poverty, the poor parents cannot bear the educational and other expenses of their children. Sweny was given the opportunity to stay at the International Needs Savar Children’s Village and go to school in a safe environment. Sweny and her parents are very grateful for this opportunity. The family’s religion is Christianity.
