Vertical Gardens Feed Hungry People

At the Kibera Bible Clubs in Kenya each Saturday, children eat breakfast and lunch, whether they are sponsored or not. Vegetables are part of the lunch menu. But because of high vegetable prices, the meal was made up of less and less food.

Last summer this began to change.

Living Threads Ministry (Zeeland, MI) team visited Kenya and helped to establish a “vertical garden” on site.

The goal is healthier children who have enough to eat. This came true a few short weeks later with the first harvest. For the Bible Club sessions that Saturday, the harvest was great! Kids had full stomachs and it was healthy food!

Now more vertical gardens and more seedlings are being planned.
